This project consisted of a total transformation of the main bathroom, divided into several key phases to achieve a modern and current space:
1. Demolition phase: We began by removing the old bathroom, which had a bathtub. The decision was to convert it into a shower without a bathtub, which involved the complete removal of the previous structure.
2. Plumbing Modification:
Shower Drain: Adjustments were made to the shower base plumbing, ensuring proper alignment and drainage for the new configuration. Shower Faucet: The shower faucet plumbing was also modified to meet new standards and customer requirements.
3. Durock Installation: Before proceeding with tiling, Durock (a specialized cement board) was installed, ensuring a solid and durable base for the shower walls.
4. Waterproofing: A complete waterproofing system was applied to avoid humidity problems and ensure the longevity of the bathroom. This includes all surfaces exposed to moisture in the shower.
5. Ceramic installation:
Shower: Tiles were placed on the shower walls, following a modern and elegant design.
Floor: Ceramic tile was also installed on the bathroom floor, complementing the overall aesthetic and providing a durable surface. Additionally, a shower niche was prepared and lined, using ceramic and schluter for a clean and professional finish. Schluters were also installed on the wall edges and shower walls, providing a modern and stylish touch.
6. Preparation and Painting:
The ceiling (ceiling) of the bathroom was prepared for painting, making all the necessary corrections to the surface. Paint was applied to the walls, giving it a finishing touch that blends perfectly with the ceramic elements and modern finishes.
7. Installation of Doors and Furniture:
Glass shower door: A sleek glass shower door was installed, adding a contemporary touch and visually opening up the space. Sliding closet doors: Sliding doors were added to the bathroom closet, optimizing space and facilitating its use. Sink Cabinet: For the sink cabinet, a modification was made to the back to properly fit the existing plumbing. This allowed for a clean and precise installation of the sink and corresponding mirror. Toilet: The new toilet was also installed, completing the functionality of the bathroom.
8. Final Details and Finishes: Skirting boards were installed around the bathroom, giving a touch of elegance and completing the design of the space. Finally, a thorough check was done to make sure every detail was in place, ensuring everything worked perfectly. This master bathroom remodeling project not only improved the aesthetics of the space, but also its functionality, providing a modern and comfortable environment for daily use.
